Feral & Free
A podcast hosted by Ariel Balfour
THE HOST
Who I Am
I'm Ariel Balfour, an emotional wellness mentor, trauma-informed coach, former fighter, mother, speaker, and the woman behind Feral & Free.
I help women stop performing and start living their lives fully. My work blends emotional healing, nervous system regulation, movement, mindset, and raw real-life truth for the woman who is tired of pretending she's fine while quietly carrying everything.
I believe healing doesn't have to be soft, polished, or perfect.
Sometimes healing looks like rage.
Sometimes it looks like rest.
Sometimes it looks like reclaiming the version of you that was buried under survival, shame, expectations, and everyone else's needs.
What the Podcast Is About
Feral & Free is the podcast for women who are done shrinking, silencing, over-functioning, and abandoning themselves just to be accepted.
This is where we talk about the real stuff: healing, identity, leadership, motherhood, trauma, body image, emotional regulation, boundaries, self-trust, entrepreneurship, fitness, rage, rebirth, and becoming the woman you were before the world told you to be easier to handle.
It is raw. It is honest. It is unfiltered.
Because freedom does not come from being more acceptable. It comes from finally becoming yourself fully.

Why This Podcast Matters
This podcast matters because too many women are walking around exhausted, disconnected, and convinced they are the problem.
They are told to push harder, look better, heal faster, be softer, be stronger, be less emotional, be more disciplined, be more successful, be more of everything, while rarely being permitted to just be human.
Feral & Free exists to break that cycle.
It is here to remind women that they are not broken. They are overburdened, overstimulated, under-supported, and often trying to heal inside systems that taught them to hate themselves in the first place.
This podcast is a place to come back to your body, your voice, your truth, your power, and your fire.
My Favourite Episode
Episode 6: Pulling Back the Curtain on the Fitness Industry
This episode is one of my favourites because I went straight into the truth most people are too afraid to say out loud.
I pulled back the curtain on the fitness industry — the unrealistic expectations, impossible standards, shame-based marketing, and the way women are constantly sold the idea that their bodies are projects to fix instead of homes to return to.
So much of the industry ignores the real realities women face: hormones, motherhood, trauma, exhaustion, neurodivergence, stress, autoimmune issues, mental health, time, money, safety, support, and nervous system capacity.
Instead of meeting women where they are, it often keeps them trapped in a shame cycle:
- Not thin enough.
- Not disciplined enough.
- Not consistent enough.
- Not trying hard enough.
...and that shame is what keeps women stuck.
This episode matters because fitness should never be about punishing yourself into worthiness. It should be about power, connection, strength, safety, and learning how to trust your body again.
